54729 11236 news 29868 It was fun I've just used my favourite search engine to search for "happypenguin myusername" and I've had a nostalgic time reading stuff I'd written under various user names since 2001 :D Back in those days Linux was really exploding and it was a very enjoyable period visiting this website and discussing gaming, so I thank you for that experience. Off the top of my head I'd say that the Fashion Cents comments were some of the funniest because of the loony things some crazy woman was saying :P

I'm glad that you're not going to leave this site up any longer because it looks sad now with all the spam, the neverending Summoning Wars 0.5.6 announcement burned into my grey matter, the "hello, is anyone there" posts. It's shame because so many people over the years have offered to assist with it and then the mods go quiet which is strange when you consider many things Linux are collaborative (I could never understand that).

Anyway, the team over at the Linux Game Database have done a fantastic job of filling the void, it's very professional and there's quite a network of news sites that it aggregates, but it needs more people posting loony comments on the game pages to encourage more input from readers.

So farewell happypenguin, it was fun. 2013-04-01 07:18:25 0
54728 11236 news 31407 10^3 thanks This news is sad, but I can't say I didn't see them coming. I want to thank all the people who made TLGT (which for me it will always be known as Happy Penguin) for many, many years of news updates. I found most of the games I tried on GNU/Linux on this site, and many of them even worked. I expect you get involved on interesting projects. Good luck. 2013-03-26 04:31:26 0

54726 10514 news 34214 (tap)(tap)(tap) Is this thing on? Has happypenguin.org been abandoned again? The forum's full of spammers and nothing else seems to be happening... 2012-10-27 08:26:51 0

54716 11233 news 10204 Re: Ahh, that sucks I would find it likely that they would drop Linux...as I suspect Linux paying so much for the games drags OSX and Windows users up. Although with the bundles pulling in so much money...and growing with each bundle Linux users add significant revenue. 2012-06-03 10:49:09 54706
54715 11233 news 10204 Re: Ahh, that sucks Limbo looks great, I what a shame. They should get less money. 2012-06-03 10:46:10 54706
54714 11233 news 10204 Re: Ahh, that sucks Personally I would have liked them to release the source to Limbo given the excuse. 2012-06-03 10:45:36 54708
54713 11233 news 34704 Re: Ahh, that sucks OTOH Psychonauts, that was previously ported to OSX with wine, got a native Port.
So I wouldn't be too pessimistic. 2012-06-03 10:33:48 54706
54709 11233 news 10140 Re: Ahh, that sucks CodeWeavers (the commercial backers of Wine) did the port: http://www.ubuntuvibes.com/2012/06/humble-team-and-game-developers-share.html According to the interview there was a difficulty with the audio layer that didn't have a Linux equivalent. 2012-06-02 16:17:27 54706
