Wolfenstein 3D port using libSDL |
<p>Wolf4SDL is an open-source port of id Software's classic first-person shooter
Wolfenstein 3D to the cross-plattform multimedia library "Simple DirectMedia
Layer (SDL)" (http://www.libsdl.org). It is meant to keep the original feel
while providing several improvements:
<ul>
<li>Cross-plattform:<br>
<ul>
<li>Linux
<li>BSD variants
<li>Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista (32 and 64 bit)
<li>KallistiOS (used for Dreamcast)
</ul>
Only little endian platforms like x86, ARM and SH-4 are supported, yet.
<li>AdLib sounds and music (includes the OPL2 emulator from MAME).
<li>Multichannel digitized sounds.
<li>Higher screen resolutions (multiples of 320x200 or 320x240).
<li>Also fully playable with only a game controller.
<li>Includes several optional enhancements for mod development.

<p>The following versions of Wolfenstein 3D data files are currently supported
by the source code:

<li> Wolfenstein 3D v1.0, v1.1, v1.2, v1.4 shareware
<li> Wolfenstein 3D v1.1, v1.4 full Apogee

<p>Tilt the 3d maze and roll your marble to the exit. The final version will fully support laptop SMS / HDAPS sensors to allow players to tilt the laptop to play! (Support is partially there now - Linux users get an SDL patch and Mac users can wrangle with Unimotion)

<p>A game similar to 'Super Pang'. You are attacked by little green balls which are bouncing around and which you have to kill with your knife. Your knife however is limited to being thrown upwards, thus you have to get under the balls to kill them. Even worse, if you 'kill' a large ball, it doesn't just vanish, but breaks apart into two smaller balls. Levels consist of little platforms connected by ladders, so you can go up and down or find cover if needed.</p> |

Pingus has started at the end of 1998 with the simple goal to create a Free (as in freedom, not as in free beer) Lemmings<sup>tm</sup> clone. The <quote>Free</quote>, which means you get the sources and are allowed and encouraged to change and distribute them, you basically get everything that I used to create this game. In the years it has grown than quite a bit over the original goal and become something more than just a clone, we have original artwork, a built-in level editor, new actions and a few other features.
<p>
If you don't know Lemmings<sup>tm</sup>, here comes a short
introduction. Its a puzzle game developed in 1991 by <a href="http://www.mobygames.com/company/sheet/companyId,146/">DMA
Design</a>. The player takes command in the game of a bunch of
small animals and has to guide them around in levels. Since the
animals walk on their own, the player can only influence them by
giving them commands, like <quote>build a bridge</quote>,
<quote>dig a hole</quote> or <quote>redirect all lemmings in the
other direction</quote>. The goal of each level is to reach the
exit, for fix multiple combination of commands are necessary.
The game is presented in a 2D site view. For more informations
