We over at <a href="http://lms.d3files.com/">Last Man Standing</a> are excited to annouce
the release of our <a href="http://lms.d3files.com/files.php">first map</a>. Unfortunately it is a
single player map since the SDK hadn't been released
yet so we don't have coop, yet. As a note many of the
beta testers told me that after playing my map they
stopped playing single player doom 3 and only play my
map. In addition, I have never been scared while
watching a movie or playing a game, but I have to say
that in my map at one particular point I got so scared
that I paniced and jumped out the window. To sum it
up, don't play this map if you have any heart
problems, because the map is EXTREMELY thrilling.
Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy.

Achtung!<p>
<i>Shrapnel Games</i> will be publishing the sequel to the turn-based strategy game <a href="http://happypenguin.org/show?Dominions">Dominions</a>. <br>Currently in late beta, the game is expected to be released in late October.<br>
<br>
Game description:
<blockquote><i>"Deep doesn't even begin to describe Dominions 2 gameplay yet the object of the game is fairly simple. You're a god, but you're not the supreme god, and well, you sure in Vahalla want to be the big cheese in the sky. So what's a god to do? Send in the Krishnas? Direct mailers? No, you raise up some armies and start kicking the other gods arses until you're king of the hill. Of course doing such entails more than sending a stack over to your opponent to call down the pain on his warriors' heads.<br>
In Dominions 2 players will raise armies, hire mercenaries, lay siege to strongholds, forge mystical items, pray for guidance, hunt down blood sacrifices, assassinate enemy leaders, cast spells, watch as heroes become known across the lands, reanimate corpses, cause an uprising, construct buildings, and much, much more. And all this before you break your fast! Definitely one of the most engrossing strategy games of 2003, if you can think it you can probably do it in Dominions 2."</i> </blockquote>

Bioware Producer Derek French <a href="http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=119167&forum=42">broke the silence</a> about the Linux <a href="http://nwn.bioware.com">Neverwinter Nights</a> client port today:
<blockquote><i>
Sorry for the lack of a central location for information
about the Linux Client. We will be fixing this soon. For right now, here
is the current information on the Linux Client.<br><br>For
those of us joining us late, the Linux client was not released with the Windows
version. The Linux server was released shortly after the Windows version.
As to why, the Mac and Linux versions of the game are being co-developed
and our focus was on the Windows version for the June launch. Currently the
Mac and Linux versions are in full development. The Mac version of the Toolset
is being handled by MacSoft. You can find an update from Al Schilling from
MacSoft <a href="http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=117590&forum=42" target="_blank">here</a>.<br><br>What we can't give you right now:<br>- Linux client screenshots<br>- an exact completion date<br><br>All
we can estimate is that screenshots will happen within a month and we expect
the Linux Client to be available for download in Fall 2002.<br><br>What we can give you:<br>- an assurance that the Linux client will be released<br>- a web page for the Linux Client where all updates will take place<br><br>We expect the Linux Client page, with information, to be up within a week.<br>

<a href="mailto:redpingu@caramail.com">BLuPiNGu</a> has announced a new project, <a href="http://rocloiso.planet-d.net/creatures/download_fr.html">#demofr Creatures</a>. I presume the unusual name comes from the IRC channel that the game was born in. BLuPiNGu describes the game like this:
<blockquote><i>In #demofr creatures, you give orders
to your monsters, but as they are a
bit stupid, they won't do exactly what
did tell them. #demofr creatures can be
played over a tcp/ip network. The game
is fully skinnable, i think about adding
mod support, there is no sound support
yet but it will come. Yet there is only
the mapeditor and a previous version of
the server, but it is to make the
source available to whoever wants to
help.
</i></blockquote>

If you read French, you can find out more about the game <a href="http://rocloiso.planet-d.net/creatures">here</a>. If you read C, the source is available <a href="http://rocloiso.planet-d.net/creatures/download_fr.html">here</a>.
