A lunar-lander-ish console game where you try to carry a heavy object. |
Interesting, maybe, to people looking for old C64 games which they cannot live without. Thrust is a 320x200 GGI/svgalib/X game sort of like the classic Lunar Lander-style game only the object is to pick up some heavy object from the bottom of the screen, while dodging what look like shooting chairs and the canyon floor. |

Tetris for Linux console. |
Tetris for Linux console. It's much better looking than Tetris for Terminals. The commands work like Nintendo Tetris, not the original Tetris (hold down space to drop a piece quickly, let go and it drops at the normal rate). This is just the standard tetris-like game, with no special pieces or features. Overall, a well-done game---the interface is pretty, and I didn't encounter any bugs. |

A unique action game for X or SVGAlib featuring a bouncy yellow ball. |
An action game for Linux console (320x200 or 640x480) or X. You're a yellow beach ball with eyes, and your mission is to bounce the little red balls off the edge of the screen while trying not to get bounced off yourself. The enemy balls seem deviously intelligent as they team up to bounce you off the board. Version 1.2 adds client/server network support; play it head to head on a few networked Linux boxes! |

This is a well done scrolling arcade-style game for Linux console. It's a side-view scroller where you control your ship's thrusters to maneuver it around a playing field under the influence of gravity. Grab all the keys to open a stargate to the next level. |

An excellent side-scroller from Crack dot Com. |
This is a 2D platform game with a dark, gritty feel. The lighting is beautiful and the character animation is very realistic. This is the shareware version, and only comes with a few levels. Multiplayer (IPX or TCP/IP) is supposedly supported in version 1.1.0, but wasn't available in the version I tested (0.3.2). |

1.7.1 |
SDL port of the classic DOS game Sopwith |
(From the Sopwith FAQ):<br>
Sopwith and its much-improved successor, Sopwith 2, is a CGA game designed for both single player play, and also equipped to handle up to 8 players in multiplayer mode (4 human, 4 computer). It is a side-scrolling biplane action game involving two sides - cyan and magenta. The object of the game in single-player is to destroy all of the enemy buildings and vehicles, either by shooting, bombing, or colliding with them. To stop you, the enemy has deployed planes to shoot you down and buildings that shoot anti-aircraft fire at you. Each level ends when all the enemy buildings and vehicles are destroyed, and is followed by a faster and more difficult level with the same map. |
