Although I don't play Ultima Online, I'm certain that this is now abandonware, as the file at the download link hasn't been updated since 1999. |

TZO is a Dynamic DNS utility for TCP/IP games |
TZO allows you to set a permanent name for your constantly changing dynamic IP address, which you can distribute to your friends. Log on and TZO's servers will take your current IP address and stamp your name to it. Then your friends can find your computer on the Internet by name, without those long, cryptic IP
numbers. This is especially useful for
hosting multiplayer games on your
computer. You can also use it for video
conferencing, Internet phones, and running your own Web, FTP, or remote-access servers from your cable modem or dial-up account. Log in, run TZO, and your computer is ready to take HTTP, FTP, or remote-control requests at
yourname.tzo.com. TZO may be tried free for 30 days and is compatible with Linux as well as Windows. |

This is a playable demo of an adventure game |
From the Hopkins FBI README:

A criminal organization, claiming to posses nuclear
weapons, threatens to use them against american people, if the
United States government does not bow to its demands. Faced with
America's absolute refusal to cooperate with the terrorists, two
nuclear missiles are launched on the state of California, killing
50000 people. The FBI, in charge of the case, opens up the biggest
investigation of the century. In 1986, after 2 years of inquiry,
the leader of the criminal organization, Bernie Berckson, is
found, thanks to the excellent work of one FBI man : special
agent Hopkins.Special Agent Hopkins has just been put on the
biggest case of his life : find and kill Bernie Berkson, the most
vicious and dangerous criminal in years.Hostage showdowns,
murders terrorist acts: Special Agent Hopkins has to get around a
nightmare of traps and twisted surprises in the course of his
investigations if he wants to find Berkson and save the planet
form certain doomsday.

Let's just stay that if Quentin Tarentino had ever created video
game, it would have been "Hopkins FBI"

Hopkins FBI is a game drawing on American
comic-strip cartoons. The action takes place in the present day,
in an undefined city of the USA. It is a click-and-play adventure
game. The hero of the game, Hopkins, is an FBI agent who at the
start, is investigating a bank robbery. But very soon, the plot
turns angry on him: a hardened criminal he had arrested years
before succeeds in escaping from the prison where he was held,
and is out to seek revenge on Hopkins...The visual treatment is
very much angled on comic-strip graphics. The player has the
feeling of being inside comic-strip boxes. The colours are bright,
the decors detailed. During his investigation, the player will
meet and dialogue with some forty characters. These are often
caricatural, especially the women who, with some rare
exceptions, tend to have dumb-blonde roles. The atmosphere of the
game is fairly gory and violent. But this aspect is always
mitigated by the black humour of the characters and dialogue, as
well as the at times surrealistic air to the situations. It is
all right to suggest the world of Pulp Fiction and the films of
John Woo.

Linux client port of Xatrix first person shooter Kingpin |
Says Ryan "Ridah" Feltrin of Xatrix Entertainment:

A full Linux client port of Kingpin is now available.

I have not tested this extensively, so please don't treat this as a full-blown release. If there are major bugs, I'd like to hear about it. I will try and fix any problems in what little time I have outside normal work.

I am very much behind the linux cause. Although for many it can be a love-hate relationship at times, when it does work, it's a dream to use. I've only been using it now for about a week, in which time I've developed a strong desire to see this platform succeed. Thus, I have devoted a lot of effort towards getting this client working.

At this time, it is limited to Linux glibc, and REQUIRES A 3D ACCELERATOR, which is compatible with Linux (most 3DFX and TNT/2 cards).

Please sure to read the README file before attempting to contact me.

Kingpin is an extremely violent 3D shooter that puts you in the role of a street thug.
Foul language and gore abound. This one's not for the kiddies. |
