Arcade-style multiplayer zombie shooter |
<p>Zombie Grinder it's a multi-platform cooperative multiplayer arcade game, reminiscent in style and gameplay of retro games like 'Zombies Ate My Neighbors' and 'Super Smash TV!', but with the added benefit of some newer game mechanics - achievements, ranking, player-customization, rpg style stats and so forth.
<p>The game sports a variety of different game modes, from co-operative 'campaign' style levels, to wave maps and even the classic 'pvp' style game modes - deathmatch, capture the 'bag' and so forth. All of these mods are bristling with a variety of weapons and items, all lovingly displayed in Jordan's classic quirky pixel-art style. |

Hack, Slash, Loot (HSL) is a single-player turn-based dungeon crawler for Windows, MacOS, and Linux. Take control of a lone hero and explore sprawling dungeons, fight dangerous monsters, and most importantly, plunder valuable treasures. HSL features thousands of items, monsters, and dungeon features, and with a new dungeon created every game you can be sure that no two plays will ever be the same. Boasting easy to master controls you'll be adventuring in no time, but there is still enough depth to challenge the most hardened of adventurers. |

Real Time Strategy game with supports of Red Alert and Command & Conquer |
<p>OpenRA is a Libre/Free Real Time Strategy game engine supporting early Westwood games like Command & Conquer and Command & Conquer: Red Alert.
<p>OpenRA can be currently played as online multiplayer game only. However, you can create a single player game by selecting bots as enemy opponents with three different AIs (easy, medium, hard).
<p>Watching from top, player selects units, and send them around attacking enemies. You also build buildings, and can controls superweapons like nuke and chrome. Naval units like subs and cruisers, and planes and helicopters help balance the gameplay, and has been a little changed from the original games.
<p>If you have original Red Alert files, you can use them with OpenRA. But, they are not necessary. Both original C&C: Red Alert and C&C has been recreated as mods and can be downloaded from game menu itself. They are not just clones of the original versions but provide improved and rebalanced gameplay.
<p>The website of OpenRA offers the open code, a place to report bugs has a forum where gamers can discuss new ideas and modifications they have made or would like to make to the game.
<p>The irc channel #openra on freenode is active, and developers hang out to help modders and mappers make new cool games.
<p>2 new advanced mods have been created, and more are coming. Mappers can also make creative maps with totally different gameplays. The wiki, forum and the irc channel will give you help.
<p>The unstable playtest is the most played, be sure you download that. And ask in Irc if anyone can host a game for you, or invite players to your games.. |

<p>nSnake is a version of the classic snake game, made with nCurses.<br />
It means that you can play it through the terminal, with text-only graphics! What more could you ask?
<p>You control a hungry snake and the objective is to eat (collide with) as many
fruits as you can. Each fruit eaten increases your size and you die by colliding with yourself.
<p>The purpose of nSnake game was to provide a simple-coded, almost tutorial-like game with C. The source code is so well-commented that it's like it's talking to you. |

A Tetris(tm) clone on terminal. |
yetris is Tetris(tm) on the console. It has colors and highscore, along with
many features found on modern Tetris(tm) implementations.
It's made with C and runs on (most) Linux terminals.
Some of it's features:
* Colored textual interface - playable on the console.
* Hold and up to 5 next pieces.
* Combo and back-to-back sequences
* Scoring system compliant to the (conjectured) Tetris(tm) Guideline.
For now it attempts to be as close as any modern Tetris(tm) game as possible.
It lacks some expected features but it's on active development.
Also, the source code is clean and commented, allowing much better
understanding and easing feature-implementation. |
