<p>The aim of the open Outcast project is to create a free successor to the commercial action-adventure "Outcast" released in 1999 and developed by Appeal. Since the official sequel was canceled we decided to create our own using free technology like Crystalspace / CEL since portability and a free license were important to us. We also make sure, that all artist tasks can be done via free programs as well (like 3d art 3dsmax OR Blender, 2d art Photoshop OR Gimp).<br />

<p>UFO: Enemy Unknown (X-Com: UFO Defense in USA) is a popular strategy videogame made by Mythos / Microprose, where you take control of the X-Com organization to fight off the alien menace invading Earth.
<p>OpenXcom is an open-source reimplementation of that game, licensed under the GPL and written in C++ / SDL, which was started back in February 2009 by a bored old university student who loves X-Com way too much.
<p>The problem is by now the original game is very old, buggy and dated. So the goal of this project is to bring back the tried and true feel of the original with none of the issues! All the same graphics, sound and gameplay with a brand new codebase written from scratch without disassembling the original executable |

<p>Crossfire-Extended is a successor project/media-fork to the RPG crossfire. It contains all the maps, features and objects of crossfire but adds 50% to the world and aims at a higher rate of media creation. Another aim (which has been achieved) is the differentiation of different regions; different architecture, different monsters, different foods, and different weapons available.

Zlog is a 2D platform game. Basically, you jump on platforms and kill ennemies, like in many other games out there. The concept itself is not very original - that's why Zlog is aimed at providing a unique gameplay. It is for the moment pretty much like SuperMario (or Supertux), since the weapon subsystem is not yet implemented.
It should heavily rely on the plot - what most platform games lack. |
