6097 4 2005-12-19 09:59:20 <p>The 2006 Independent Games Festival finalists have been announced, and they include some games available for Linux!</p> <p>Among the finalists: <a href="http://happypenguin.org/show?Darwinia">Darwinia</a>, <a href="http://happypenguin.org/show?Professor%20Fizzwizzle">Professor Fizzwizzle</a>, and <a href="http://happypenguin.org/show?Tribal%20trouble">Tribal Trouble</a>. All finalists are eligible for the IGF 2006 Audience Award, and Darwinia and Professor Fizzwizzle are up for the Seumas McNally Grand Prize.</p> <p>The finalists will be demonstrating their titles on the IGF Pavilion at GDC 2006 in San Jose, California next March. </p> 2006 IGF finalists announced; Linux games in the running default

3364 2 2003-01-25 16:27:01 Ryan "Icculus" Gordon announced ports of three popular Windows first-person shooter games at <a href="http://www.linuxworldexpo.com/">the Linuxworld Expo</a>: <ul> <li><b><a href="http://serioussam.com/se/index.html">Serious Sam: The Second Encounter</a></b> - the second installment of <a href="http://www.croteam.com">Croteam</a>'s great looking shoot-everything-that-moves shooter. <li><b><a href="http://www.ea.com/eagames/main/pccd/moh_alliedassault/home.jsp">Medal of Honor: Allied Assault</a></b> - A game which puts you in the trenches of World War II as a US Army Ranger, powered by the Quake III engine. <li><b><a href="http://www.americasarmy.com/">America's Army</a></b> - Another war simulator, this game was created by the US Army and attempts to realistically simulate land warfare. It's built on the Unreal Tournament engine. </ul> No word yet on when the games will actually be released. Two of the games were up and running at the Icculus.org booth.
